Authorities say visits with inmates have temporarily been suspended at the federal prison in Forrest City because of an illness outbreak.
The prison says visits have been temporarily suspended because of a number of inmates with a “suspected gastrointestinal virus.” Prison officials say they don’t yet know what’s sickened the inmates, but that they don’t suspect swine flu.
A prison official says visiting hours will resume once the virus is contained.
The prison in Forrest City is a low-security facility housing male inmates, including rapper T.I., who is serving a yearlong sentence on a weapons charge.

Tameka hired Randall M. Kessler. The same lawyer who represented T.I.’s baby mama and one of Evander Holyfield’s baby mamas.

T.I’s request has requested for an extra 10 days before he has to report to jail (because he wanted to find a prison closer to his home in Georgia) has been denied.

T.I.  has been credited for the 305 days of home confinement he served before his trial. T.I. is doing 10 months in jail. The U.S. Attorney’s office released a statement saying everyone was confused about the amount of credit T.I. was receiving for his home confinement.

T.I is scheduled to report to a federal prison in Forrest City, Arkansas on May 26 to start his one year and one day jail sentence. And is staging one last concert before he goes to jail.

A day or two after being dropped by T.I. and Grand Hustle for being a DEA informant, rapper Alfamega was arrested after a traffic stop turned up a stolen gun. The police reports claim Alfalfa got combative when they found the gun, so they pepper sprayed him. At that point ‘Mega ran and cops chased him to a nearby parking garage and hit him several times with their batons. Didn’t stop him. Your boy got loose and jumped over the parking garage rail 25 to 30 feet to the ground. Needless to say he didn’t get away. Cops scooped him up and booked him on fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest and felon in possession of firearms charges. Al spent three days in jail before bonding out.
FYI: That picture is not from the night in question. That picture is from the night Alfamega got arrested at the Dirty Awards last November.

“I am stunned and totally surprised by the news about Alfa “Ced” Zellers. Even though all of our artists and employees are asked by us to be honest and open about their past history, at no time did Alfa disclose to me or Grand Hustle what has now appeared in the media. He essentially deceived us by failing to fully disclose the truth about his past, and there is no place in our organization for dishonest and misleading behavior.
As I’ve always said, you must take responsibility for your own actions. We at Grand Hustle can not support or condone blaming others for our own mistakes. I hope and pray that God blesses Cedric’s plans, but i don’t foresee me or my company playing a role in his personal or professional business.”

MAY 5–Billed as the protégé of rapper/gun enthusiast T.I., Cedric “Alfamega” Zellars is a convicted felon whose songs brag about his status as an “original gangster” and contain de rigeur references to police tape, automatic weapons, and murder. Zellars, who records for T.I.’s Grand Hustle Entertainment, is a hulking 6′ 4″, calls himself “The Grand Hustle Muscle,” and proclaims, “I’m a real hood.” What he does not mention, though, is his prior work as a Drug Enforcement Administration informant who snitched out criminal cohorts and testified as a government witness at the trial of an Atlanta heroin trafficker. Court records show that Zellars began working with law enforcement officials after he was sentenced in September 1995 to 110 months in a federal gun case (Zellars, who had a prior felony robbery conviction, was collared for selling weapons to an undercover federal agent). Zellars “agreed to cooperate with authorities and was debriefed” about the criminal activity of several individuals. “In particular he was debriefed concerning the drug trafficking activities of a Mr. Ali Baaqar,” according to a government court filing, a copy of which you’ll find below. During his cooperation against Baaqar, Zellars met with a DEA agent and a federal prosecutor, and subsequently testified at trial. “Ali Baaqar was convicted of conspiracy to distribute heroin based upon the trial testimony of [Zellars] and others.” In return for his snitching, Zellars had 18 months shaved off his prison term when he was resentenced in July 1997 by Judge J. Owen Forrester. A court order signed by Forrester came after federal prosecutors petitioned the jurist to reduce Zellars’s sentence in light of his “substantial assistance to the Government.” The disclosure of Zellars’s informant past will likely not sit well with rap fans and performers alike, many of whom promote hip-hop’s “Stop Snitching” doctrine. Additionally, since T.I. (real name: Clifford Harris) is soon headed to prison due to the work of a government informant, Zellars’s time as a government asset could be a cause for tension around the Grand Hustle offices.

Bon Voyage

Update: My bad. T.I. reported for sentencing today. He will not have to go to jail until May 19.

T.I. is scheduled to report to a federal detention facility today to start his 1 year and 1 day prison sentence after he pled guilty to federal weapons charges a year ago. Well truthfully he’ll probably only do about 10 months or so because his sentence was for more than a year, so he’s entitled to shave 15 percent off his time for good behavior. He’ll also get credit for the two weeks he sat in jail after his arrest and before he posted his 3 million dollar bail.
